Wahlan eh, i have been running in and out of the damn hospital. And guess what, i still have to attend my niece 's birthday bbq bash. It was a nice bbq with tonnes of good food but as usual FiREBUrN met the usual kns people there...sian..TMD :(
I just don't understand why people like to turn up late for such event.
This is not a wedding dinner you known, cunts?!
(maybe you people think, come late got food bbq for you and you ccbs can just eat eat eat !!)
I just don't understand why people just don't help out and help carry the food...Can't get your KNN golden hands tired and dirty isit? PCBs!
I just don't understand why people just like to crowd around the bbq pit & fold their CB golden heavy arms and only comment duo duo like "aiyo, why the fire so small?", :"aiyo, why the chicken wings so small?"..Fuck you, understand? wait i take the charcoals and ass rape you with them then you know..hahaha!!
I just don't understand why it's alway the same old helpful people that is doing the bbqing while others just seat on their LJ fat asses and wait for the food to be THROW at them!!!!! This is so crazy!!
I Just don't understand why people just pai pai pi ku and leave after they eat liao, without helping to clear the mess in the end. Just say a simple LJ "Thank YOU" and left. Guess what? FiREBuRN hope you CBs eat liao go home, LS until siao!! haha!!

I find that their PARABLES about GUAN YIN is not convincing!! PLEASE TELL ME THE TRUTH!!!!

I dont take beef, and people always ask "oh, religion huh?".. Wassup man? Cant I just dont take beef? I just dont take any red meat what! Weird ppl! Eating vegetarian food that day doesnt mean I am a vegetarian..
Over the years, Buddhism practices have been mixed up with Taoism. Some argue the restriction of beef intake comes from Taoism instead whereby quite a number of people are confused between Taoism and Buddhism and end up combining/practising both of them together. Some are simply following their parent's advise and not questioning the reason for doing so (I was one of them).
Then again, Buddhism has never stop any one eating which type of meat, but refrain. In fact, Buddha himself was not a vegetarian but ate whatever was offer for him. But all Buddhists are requested to avoid violence and direct killing of sentient beings.
However, Buddhist are not forced to be vegetarians because of that. Its up to individual's abilities, its always good that one less being is killed because of us.
Another reason may be that Buddha was from India and in those time,
buffalo are treated with respect and they are not consumed as food.
(the gods use the cows as their transport or "pet" [whatever you call it] & the pple respect it alot.. in China, some legends also depict a immortal with a cow, either using it as a transport, or just pulling it by a rope...) Some also argue 'cuz they work for us, so we should not eat it.
Summary: so as the generations goes on, the elders will "combine" all practices and stuff that they hear from one another...then pass it down to the younger generation leading to more confusions. In short, it's a form of respect not to do eat beef, not a mandatory thing. It's up to individual if they wanna do the intake... even some devotees have no idea why they should do it (and I WONDER why they never bother to find out, or perhaps lack of channels to find the answer), I guess pple tend to take the safe side than to be sorry.
In any case, does it really matter to non-believers why a believer refrain eating beef anyway?

FB: religion stuff is sensitive for discussions.. too many unknown whys in any religion or why pple choose to believe blindly, not necessary a certain belief/religion. in nature, most pple tend to take the safe route. rather believe blindly than never.
well, most righteous religion would lead pple to good ways/right path. I guess that matters. Afterall, nowadays rituals/practices are not the main focus, but one's heart to move to be good. ;)

Ever wondered the reason why Guan Yin followers are not allowed to eat beef ? Let's look back into time.
Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, is originally Avalokiteśvara, a former prince from India, who later on became a monk and went to China on a mission with a bunch of followers. Because of his compassionate ways (which closely resembles a female back in ancient Chinese societies), in turn people remembered him as a 'her'. Thus, he was later depicted as the 'Goddess of Mercy'.
Now that I've mentioned he's a prince from India, and well, you know people those days were Brahmans before they convert into Buddhism. And they show their gratitude to cows because they are the symbol of fertility (they are the key to harvest, they plow the fields, their dung is fertilizer etc.).
And well some things never change, like habits. Now, does it make more sense that he forbids his followers from taking beef ?

I'd say that it's not the religions which are mixed up - it's the people who mixed them up for not understanding them properly.
And well, religion shouldn't be made sensitive - it's bad for the mental health. And as for me, I'm a Buddhist - but I see Buddhism as something more of a religion. It is more like a torrent of teachings about the world and life on it, and how things work. I do not regard the Lord Buddha as my God or something as such - I view him more like my teacher though.
